The GA-001 Lucky Star (GA-001 ラッキースター) is Milfeulle Sakuraba's EDEN Emblem Frame in the Galaxy Angel trilogy.

Technical Overview[]

Designed as an all-purpose fighter, the pink Lucky Star is the most well-rounded of the six EDEN Emblem Frames, and possesses the ability to fight in any situation. However, there are numerous power stability problems, and thus Milfeulle is the only one capable of piloting it due to her extreme luck. Its Hyper Weapon is the Hyper Cannon, a powerful beam weapon that can blast through entire ships.

Armaments[]

The nomenclature of some weapons differ from other media before the confirmation from the official GA website.

  • Mid-range Energy Beam Cannon (中距離ビーム砲): A beam cannon as the main weaponry mounted on the cone. It was alternatively set as a Plasma Beam cannon in the novel or other designations such as a Laser Cannon.
  • Short-range Missile Launcher (近距離ミサイル): The missile pod mounted on the left engine block.
  • Medium Caliber Railguns (中口径レールガン): The machine guns mounted per leg, each installed an EML (Electromagnetic Launcher) that employs electromagnetic induction to accelerate the firing bullets, following the Fleming's left-hand rule.
  • Laser Phalanx (近接レーザー砲レーザーファランクス)): A close-range laser cannon mounted on the legs that cna fire multiple homing lasers and guiding beams simultaneously.
  • Energy Shield (エネルギーシールド): A barrier generating system mounted on the right engine block.

Hyper Weapon[]

Hyper Cannon
  • Hyper Cannon (ハイパーキャノン): A high-energy particle beam fired from the Beam Cannon. Through long distance, it can blast through multiple targets without any loss in single-target damage, as long as they are in proper trajectory. In the novels, it is designated as a high-energy plasma beam during the unit's Hyper Mode.

Gameplay[]

The Lucky Star has no glaring strengths or weaknesses. Its speed is second only to the Kung-fu Fighter, thus making it the most dependable unit as an interceptor, reinforcement or rearguard. The Hyper Cannon can blast through multiple targets, but only as long as they are in a straight line. Also, when fired at close range, there is a good chance that Milfie will drag the beam like a massive lightsaber, slicing apart anything in her path. As befitting her infamous luck, this can either be very good (as she'll also slice into other enemy ships otherwise not in her sights) or very bad (as she may only inflict a small fraction of the damage she would otherwise to her actual target).

Statistics[]

HP 7000 Energy 10000
Top Speed A- Range C
Acceleration A- Attack B
Turning A- Armor A
Fuel B Evasion S
Spirit Gain Rate -2 -1 -1 0 Attack 0 +1 +1 +2
Evasion 0 +1 +1 +2 Accuracy 0 +1 +1 +2
Defense 0 +1 +1 +2 Critical Hit Rate 0 0 +1 +1

The Lucky Star boasts good speed, attack, and defense. It is the most balanced fighter, and can be useful in any capacity.

Weapons include a laser (range 4000, min 1500); twin gatling guns (range 2000); and eight "Phalanx" omnidirectional missile launchers (range 3000, min 2000). The Lucky Star also carries a small energy shield to help deflect attacks. Against fighters (i.e. the Hell Hounds), the laser is replaced by a swarm of anti-fighter missiles.

The Lucky Star's Final Attack is the Hyper Cannon (range 4000); which hits all enemies in a straight line in front of the Lucky Star, regardless of range. Unfortunately, it must still come within range of the target in order to begin the attack, but with careful positioning, the player can take out several ships with one Hyper Cannon. If Milfie is not facing her target when Hyper Cannon activates, or if she is to close and has to veer away before the attack is finished, the beam will move with her, potentially sweeping across multiple ships. BEWARE it takes high energy consumption and will likely need to resupply more frequently than the others.
